This Quinoa Flaky Pastry recipe is an easy recipe for gluten free pastry that feels and handles like good pastry! The recipe has sweet and savory versions.
These pictures show this recipe used to make:
- An Apple Pie with a thin, light flaky crust.
- Sausage rolls with light, melt in the mouth flaky pastry.
- Flaky Pastry fingers ready to accompany a dessert or sweet treat!
Many gluten free pastries are not a pleasure to eat. They are either too hard, or too thick or too crumbly! This Quinoa Flaky Pastry is not only gluten free, it is also free from rice, corn and gums! It is easy to make, easy to handle and tastes delicious! People will only know this is gluten free when you tell them.
All my recipes use ingredients that are readily available in supermarkets and health food stores.
This pastry can be frozen - all you do is roll it out as a sheet and lay it flat for freezing. If you are freezing more than one sheet, separate sheets of pastry with a sheet of kitchen paper. Freeze in a flat, airtight box, or a large freezer bag.
All my recipes use basic ingredients. There are no premixes. There are no gums in this recipe.
